AFTER SCHOOL CAMPS

Here’s a few extra services we provide after school to support children with special needs.

1. Academic Coaching – Math/Reading/Writing/Urdu Language Support

2. Tutoring and Homework Help

Our teachers offer help with homework and tuition for those who need it:

  • Our academic assessment lays the foundation on which we build an individual educational program, designed to address your child’s specific academic needs and learning style.
  • Our Certified Teachers use innovative tools and adaptive learning technology to maximize your child’s potential and success in the classroom.
  • We engage children and inspire success with our personal approach, next generation programs and best in class technology.
  • We also offer Homework Help so students can bring in school work and get personal support.

3. InspirEducation Junior Readers Camp (ages 4 – 10)

Our Junior Readers Camp will be:

  • An early literacy enrichment program led by a Certified Teacher.
  • Focused on strengthening core reading and early writing skills.
  • From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, every week day.
  • Having the maximum ratio of one teacher to six students so the children are able to get individualized attention.

4. ADHD Support Camp (ages 7 – 12)

  • One-to-one Direct Instruction teaching writing, reading, spelling and math skills using programs such as HWT Writing, Wilson Reading Program to address learning gaps.
  • Multi-sensory learning that meets the needs of the student.
  • Aligning the work to student’s individual interests to help maintain focus.
  • Teaching coping strategies such as chunking work, taking short breaks, or using a fidget toy such as a squishy ball or fidget cube.
  • Teaching organization strategies such as using calendars or checklists.

5. Autism Support Camp

  • One-to-one instruction with concrete examples in reading comprehension.
  • Direct instruction in written expression to learn numerical approaches to writing, breaking down the process to smaller and more manageable steps, and learning how to create organized and detailed pieces of writing that are clear and concise.
  • Teaching one-to-one handwriting instruction.
  • Use of assistive technology related to writing.
  • Executive functioning to teach organization.

6. Direct Instruction & Specialized One-to-One Support

  • Individualized teaching based on Direct Instruction programs, Orton-Gillingham principles and multisensory methods.
  • All classes are tailored to individual learning styles and interests to ensure student engagement.
  • Every new InspirEducation student is matched with a certified teacher according to his or her needs and all lessons are tailored to the student’s individual learning style.
  • Programs include Wilson Reading System®, Handwriting Without Tears™, and Orton-Gillingham.

7. Dyslexia Support Camp

  • One-to-one Direct Instruction to teach students to systematically decode words.
  • Engaging multi-sensory learning to reinforce sound and spelling rules learned.
  • Using personalized instruction and sound charts or alphabets based on students’ interest.
  • Training students on assistive technology to use for dictation, audio books or read aloud and read back features.

8. Executive Functioning Support

  • Teaching organizational strategies such as calendars, checklists or phone applications to keep track of assignments and tasks.
  • Teaching planning strategies such as dividing work into smaller steps.
  • One-to-one Direct Instruction that teaches planning and organizing ideas into a written piece using our writing programs (Power Sentences, Power Paragraphs, Power Essays).
  • Building rapport with students through weekly interactions, listening to their needs, interests, likes, dislikes and personalizing lessons according to this information.

9. Handwriting, Printing and Cursive Camp

Our Handwriting Camp is based on the award winning program Handwriting Without Tears, designed to develop and improve printing plus cursive skills.

Highlights of the printing camp include:

  • For children up to Grade 2.
  • Fine motor warm-up, sensory and gross motor activities.
  • Proper pencil grip, posture, and pencil positioning.
  • Proper formation for all capital letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.
  • Printing automaticity.
  • Auditory instruction using music and sound.
  • Tactile instruction through activities that use chalk, sand, play dough, and shaving cream.
  • Technology tools in the form of iPad apps.

Highlights of the cursive camp include:

  • For children from Grade 3 upto Grade 6.
  • Fine motor warm-up, sensory and gross motor activities.
